City of Whiterock, the cursed jewel of the heartland
Welcome to Whiterock! A vast ancient city that has been in existence for longer than any living creature can remember. Towers both ancient and new spread out for miles in all directions from a tall central spire that reaches over 3000 feet into the air, a dark shadowy haze conceals all but the top 200 feet of the spire, which host an aviary/watch tower topped by a massive transparent orb 50 feet in diameter.
The largest cluster and outright largest towers are found within the walled center ring of the city. There are many towers so large they count as small cities in their own right. Many of the towers extend deep into the dense white stone that gives the city its name, this in turn has led to a healthy urban under city to which most towers connect to.
A complex society has formed in Whiterock with a congress like counsel that governs the city and surrounding territories. Its members are representatives from various races, organizations, clans, families, and ideologies. The city in turn is diverse and dynamic, with influences from hundreds of traditions, cultures and learnings. Various parts and levels of the city can vary greatly depending apon where one is.
In a nut shell, the big towers govern themselves for all administrative task, but still serve the greater needs of the city over all. You can find any mundane needs fulfilled in any of the Big Towers, (lodging, food, buy and sell goods, magic, ect). There are dozens of these Big Towers standing within the city. The smaller towers tend to be privately owned, but many serve a tenant space for citizens. Hundreds of the small towers of all different style, size and substance stand dwarfed next to the Big Towers. Some of these smaller towers have no access at ground level and can only be entered from above or from the undercity. These who reside here are subject to the law of the city proper and have voices on the counsel. The spaces and roads between the towers are surprising quite lush and fertile. This is due to wise tending and understanding of the natural world by those that tend and protect the sacred spaces, in turn the city is provided with lush food and clean water. Much of this is due to the face that the Big Towers reflect light most radiantly bathing nearly all the city in sunlight during the day and awash with moonlights at night. While technically subject to the laws of Whiterock, the day to day life Green Road is governed by Everbrite druid circle. Below all that is the undercity. Tunnels dug into the rock from millennia of residence has created a vast underground network of halls and tunnels as far as 20 miles out and thousands of feet deep, with rumors of some going even further and deeper. Under the city proper lies a thriving community of well lit Halls, rooms and tunnel, but also you find danger lurking in the shadows. Same is said of the laws in the undercity.
